We have great news about our website, which is that hosting is now provided by Gromedia Web Agency of Yeovil, Somerset, UK. Not only that, but Gromedia will over a period of time put their expertise into developing the site. Both hosting and development are being provided without charge.
The history is that since we launched the-children-of-sikkim.org website early in 2017 it has been hosted by a company in California. Their proprietary website creation tool was easy to use, meaning that the site could be developed by us without employing a website designer. However we did have to pay for the platform and the domain registration. After a succession of price hikes, we then faced a near 100% increase in cost in September 2021. So we cast around for advice, and were put in touch with Marc Osborne at Gromedia. Marc so much liked the purpose and activities of The Children of Sikkim that he has “adopted” us as the company supported charity. Needless to say we are extremely grateful to Marc, who is online at gromedia.com.

The Children of Sikkim exists to support the education of disadvantaged children from Sikkim, in the Himalaya, NE India.
We are a UK registered charity which helps such children to be educated in Sikkim and elsewhere in India, from primary school through to college or university.
We give a young person continuity of support so as to allow them to achieve their potential.
