My education has been supported by many sponsors through The Children of Sikkim (TCoS). I have been fortunate to have sponsors supporting me continuously for more than 16 years.
I started my schooling at Sikkim Himalayan Academy (SHA) when I was 5 years old. After SHA, I moved to Dr Graham’s Homes in Kalimpong, where I boarded with other students sponsored by TCoS. I enjoyed both my studies and participating in sports. I completed and passed my ISC (Indian School Certificate) examinations in April 2025.
I am just at the end of my first year pursuing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Jain University in Bangalore. Living in Bangalore has been an exciting experience, and I have enjoyed adapting to a new city while staying focused on my studies. Balancing university life with new experiences, sports, and friendships has helped me remain motivated and maintain good academic progress as I work towards my career in physiotherapy.
Over the past year, I have gained both academic knowledge and practical exposure through field visits and practical sessions. These experiences have strengthened the foundation of my learning during my first year and prepared me well as I begin my second year.
Living in Bangalore has also given me the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds, allowing me to build meaningful friendships with students from different parts of India.
The extracurricular opportunities at the university have encouraged me to get involved beyond academics. I am a member of the sports club and the college football team. I have also been part of the music and fashion teams for various college events, and our fashion team was pleased to secure second place at a major inter-college festival.
As I continue my university journey, I hope to take on additional responsibilities, including joining the student council next year.

We are a UK registered charity which helps such children to be educated in Sikkim and elsewhere in India, from primary school through to college or university.
We give a young person continuity of support so as to allow them to achieve their potential.
