Last year our Trustee, Paul Thomson, tackled both the Ariégoise and the Etape du Tour, two gruelling mountain rides for keen (and very fit) amateur cyclists. Thanks to generous sponsorship through a fund raising page on our Total Giving platform, he raised a significant amount towards our continuing support for education of young people from Sikkim.

This year on the 30th June he is attempting the Ariégoise again, and we hope he can attract as much support as last time.  Set in the Pyrénées, the route is just short of 4 marathons back to back, but travelling up and down and up and down, peaking 1100m higher than the start. The route is changed from last year, but is just as gruelling! To the left is the route map from the official website. We wish him every luck and hope very much that readers will sponsor him through his fundraising page on Total Giving.

More details of the challenge can be found on the event website.

Go for it, Paul!
