I started my schooling at Sikkim Himalayan Academy (SHA) when I was four years old. My education there was made possible through the sponsorship programme of TCoS. I have been fortunate to have sponsors supporting me continuously for more than 18 years.
After completing my studies at SHA, I joined Dr. Graham’s Homes in Kalimpong as a boarding student, where I continued my education. I enjoyed my studies there and also actively participated in various sports. I appeared for and successfully passed my ISC (Indian School Certificate) examination in April 2024.
At present, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forensic Science at R.R. Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. I have recently completed my fourth semester (half year) in July and will be starting my fifth semester very soon.
Our course includes a wide range of subjects, and the subjects change every semester, which makes the learning experience interesting and diverse. I have particularly enjoyed studying criminal investigation, forensic science, and the laws that govern our country. We also get opportunities to participate in seminars and value-added courses from time to time, which help us enhance our knowledge and practical skills.
Until the fourth semester, we also had Hindi as a language subject. Since I am from Sikkim, I initially found it quite challenging, but with consistent effort I have improved a lot over time.
From the fifth semester onwards, I will begin the final year of my degree. We are also expecting to undertake internships during our final year, and I am really looking forward to gaining practical experience in the field.
After completing my B.Sc., I plan to pursue an M.Sc. in Forensic Science at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Delhi Campus, which is a Government university. I am enjoying learning new things, expanding my knowledge, and studying subjects that genuinely interest me. The faculty members at my college have been very supportive, and I am not facing any difficulties in my studies.
I realise I have to thank all my sponsors who have supported me right from the beginning of my educational journey. I truly appreciate the opportunity they have given me, and plan to do my best to live up to their expectations.
