My educational journey began at Sikkim Himalayan Academy (SHA) when I was three years old. Through the TCoS sponsorship programme, I was given the opportunity to receive a quality education from an early age. Looking back, I realise how fortunate I have been to benefit from everyone’s continued kindness and commitment.
After completing my studies at SHA, I joined Dr. Graham’s Homes in Kalimpong as a boarding student, where I continued my education with the support of TCoS. My years there were both enjoyable and memorable. Alongside my academic studies, I actively participated in various sports and school activities such as football, basketball and debates and many more which helped me develop discipline, teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills. In the year of my class 12 I was chosen to become the vice captain of the school which was a challenging task for me.
This opportunity shaped me to be disciplined and a good leader. On April 2024, I successfully completed my ISC (Indian School Certificate) examinations, an important milestone in my academic journey.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management at R.R. Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. I have recently completed my fourth semester and will soon begin my fifth semester, marking the start of the final year of my degree.
The BBA programme has introduced me to a wide range of subjects that have broadened my understanding of business and management. I particularly enjoy studying management because it has strengthened my knowledge of leadership, decision-making, communication, organisational behaviour, and business operations. Every semester brings new subjects and fresh learning experiences, making the course both interesting and intellectually rewarding. In addition to our academic curriculum, the college regularly organises value-added programmes that help us develop practical skills and prepare us for the professional world.
As I enter the final year of my degree, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, particularly the internship programme that forms an important part of our curriculum. I look forward to gaining practical industry experience, applying the knowledge I have acquired in the classroom, and developing the professional skills that will prepare me for my future career.
After completing my BBA, I plan to begin my professional career rather than pursue an MBA immediately. I believe that gaining real-world work experience will help me build a strong foundation, develop practical knowledge, and better understand my long-term career goals before considering higher studies. At this stage, my priority is to continue learning, grow both personally and professionally, and make the most of every opportunity that comes my way.
I am pleased to share that my studies are progressing well. The faculty members at my college are supportive, approachable, and always willing to guide us whenever we need assistance. Their encouragement and mentorship have made my learning experience both enjoyable and motivating.
As I reflect on my journey, I realise that none of these achievements would have been possible without the kindness and generosity of my sponsors and The Children of Sikkim (TCoS) Trust. Your belief in my education has given me opportunities that have transformed my life and shaped the person I am becoming.
